Conduit 300 Series Expands the MultiTech Gateway Portfolio Addressing Cyber-security and Compute Needs for Industrial Internet of Things Applications

Mounds View, MN – April 13, 2021 – Multi-Tech Systems, Inc., a leading global supplier of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and services, today announced the launch of the MultiTech Conduit® 300 Series gateway. The Conduit 300 Series addresses key industry needs including security features enabling upstream and downstream hardware and software integrations; compute features simplifying applications management and cloud integrations; and physical packaging to meet industrial requirements.  The newest addition to its award-winning Conduit family, the Conduit 300 Series gateway is aimed at industrial automation and control, utility/energy/oil and gas, and other industry communication infrastructure applications. 

An innovative new platform, the Conduit 300 Series gateway features a high performance, secure processor and new compute features to meet requirements for corporate, enterprise and government internet of things applications requiring device security, application security, and secure integrations with cloud infrastructure in addition to easy programmability.  The flexibility of the Conduit 300 Series gateway makes it compatible with leading IoT cloud software platforms enabling streamlined edge-to-cloud orchestration.  The newest gateway also features the MultiTech mPower™ Edge Intelligence embedded software.

New security features include signed firmware validation; enhanced firewall and VPN settings; secure authentication; secure boot; encrypted file system and TPM 2.0 all of which allow secure and easy integrations into leading cloud platforms.  In addition, a new four-port Ethernet switch facilitates virtual networks within a single device.  The new form factor of the Conduit 300 Series gateway allows easy access to all physical ports from the front panel making it simple to deploy, use and service in real-life industrial settings and includes DIN rail, wall, and shelf mounting options.

Removing the proprietary nature of embedded systems, the Conduit 300 Series gateway brings significant new benefits to the market, made possible by the Docker container architecture which include:

• Portability across machines on traditional systems, or in a public or private cloud.
• Rapid deployment of services. A Docker image is simple to build and can be quickly and easily deployed across environments. 
• Decreased overhead. A Docker container has a small footprint because the need for a hypervisor is removed.
• Simplified maintenance provided by the use of a layered file system.

Most recently the MultiTech Conduit 300 Series gateway received a 2021 IoT Evolution Industrial IoT Product of the Year Award from IoT Evolution World, the leading magazine and website covering IoT technologies.

The Conduit 300 Series gateway wide-area-network (WAN) interfaces include Gigabit Ethernet WAN or 3GPP cellular connectivity.  The platform features also include the flexibility to include one or more LoRaWAN® mCards™ capable of supporting thousands of LoRaWAN connected remote sensors and appliances.  Information Technology personnel or service providers can remotely configure and optimize the Conduit 300 Series performance through DeviceHQ®, the world’s first IoT Application Store and Device Management platform and they can manage their hybrid/distributed LoRaWAN network through LENS®, the toolset for network, encryption keys and policies management, and performance reporting.
