Verizon Firmware Over the Air (FOTA) Requirements
Important Notice for Verizon approved LTE Category M1, Category 1 and Category 4 Models
OVERVIEW
Verizon requires that all 4G-LTE cellular devices used on its wireless network include the ability to support FOTA for the cellular radio module firmware. To avoid service disruptions, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that FOTA can be performed successfully in their host system. Options include using:
- A third-party service using a remote server (Push FOTA).
- A user implemented FTP FOTA system (Pull FOTA).
- If the device does not include local processing capabilities, customers are required to upgrade the device when a new release becomes available.
