Multi-State Objects
Multi-State Objects are BACnet object types used to represent devices or conditions that operate in more than two discrete states, such as fan speed selections, equipment operating modes, or occupancy status levels. Each state is assigned a defined value and meaning, allowing building automation systems to interpret and act on more complex operational conditions than simple on/off control.
MultiTech enables wireless IoT data to be incorporated into these multi-state models by translating sensor-derived conditions into standardized BACnet Multi-State objects. Through MultiTech gateways, LoRaWAN® sensor data can be evaluated and mapped to meaningful operational states that appear native to the BACnet environment.
This allows integrators and facility teams to enrich automation logic and decision-making while maintaining compatibility with existing BACnet object definitions and control strategies.
