BMS / BAS (Building Management System / Building Automation System) refers to the centralized software and control platform used to monitor, manage, and automate building systems such as HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management.

These systems provide operators with a unified view of building performance and enable automated control based on sensor data, schedules, and policies. MultiTech complements BMS and BAS platforms by extending their visibility beyond traditional wired points through secure, standards-based connectivity.

Using MultiTech gateways and edge devices, wireless IoT data from LoRaWAN® sensors can be integrated directly into existing BMS environments using BACnet/IP, appearing as native BACnet objects. This allows system integrators and facility teams to expand monitoring coverage, add new use cases, and modernize buildings without replacing existing controllers or management software—delivering a scalable, partner-friendly path to smarter building operations.
