BIBBs (BACnet Interoperability Building Blocks)
BIBBs (BACnet Interoperability Building Blocks) are standardized groupings of BACnet services that define the minimum functional requirements for specific device roles within a building automation system.
By specifying which services a device must support—such as reading values, writing commands, or supporting subscriptions—BIBBs provide a common framework for validating interoperability between products from different vendors.
MultiTech aligns its BACnet-enabled gateway and edge solutions with these interoperability principles by exposing IoT sensor data through well-defined BACnet device roles and service sets. This allows system integrators to confidently integrate MultiTech-connected LoRaWAN® sensors into multi-vendor BMS environments, knowing the data will behave predictably within established BACnet workflows. The result is reduced integration risk, faster deployment, and a partner-friendly path to extending building automation systems using standards-based, interoperable connectivity.
