BBMD (BACnet Broadcast Management Device)

BBMD (BACnet Broadcast Management Device) is a BACnet/IP function that enables broadcast messages—such as device discovery and network announcements—to traverse across multiple IP subnets that would otherwise block broadcast traffic.

BBMDs are essential in larger or segmented network architectures where BACnet devices and controllers are distributed across different VLANs or IP ranges.
