BACnet Objects
BACnet Objects are standardized data types defined by the BACnet protocol that represent devices, sensor readings, system states, and control commands within a building automation system.
Common BACnet objects include Analog Input and Output for continuous values such as temperature or humidity, Binary Input and Output for two-state conditions like on/off or open/closed, and Multi-State objects for equipment with multiple operating modes.
MultiTech adds value by enabling data from wireless IoT sensors to be mapped directly into these standard BACnet objects at the edge. Through MultiTech gateways, LoRaWAN® sensor data is translated into native BACnet objects and delivered over BACnet/IP, allowing building controllers and BMS platforms to consume the data without custom integrations. This standards-based approach simplifies deployment, preserves interoperability, and helps integrators extend building automation systems with additional sensing and insight while maintaining consistency across the BACnet ecosystem.
