Analog Input (AI) / Analog Output (AO)

Analog Input (AI) and Analog Output (AO) are BACnet object types used to represent continuous-value measurements and control outputs within a building automation system.

Analog Inputs commonly reflect sensor readings such as temperature, humidity, pressure, or energy values, while Analog Outputs are used to command variable setpoints or control signals to equipment.

MultiTech extends the reach of these BACnet objects by enabling data from wireless IoT sensors to be presented as native Analog Inputs within the BACnet environment. Through MultiTech gateways, LoRaWAN® sensor measurements are mapped into BACnet AI objects with proper units and status, allowing building controllers and BMS platforms to monitor and act on the data using standard BACnet logic.

This approach enables partners to add flexible sensing and control capabilities without additional wiring, while maintaining consistency with established BACnet object models.
