Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD)

Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) refers to BACnet-enabled capabilities that analyze building system data to identify anomalies, performance degradation, or maintenance needs before they result in failures or inefficiencies.

FDD relies on consistent, high-quality data from sensors and control points to detect conditions such as equipment faults, abnormal energy consumption, or environmental issues. MultiTech enhances FDD initiatives by expanding the availability and reach of reliable sensor data within BACnet environments.

Through MultiTech gateways, wireless LoRaWAN® sensors are integrated as native BACnet objects, providing additional data points that support more comprehensive diagnostics and insight.

This allows partners and facility teams to strengthen maintenance strategies, improve operational reliability, and extend FDD coverage without the cost and complexity of additional wiring or system replacement.
