BACnet Gateway

BACnet Gateway is a device that enables interoperability between BACnet and other communication protocols by translating data to and from BACnet objects and services. Common use cases include bridging BACnet with protocols such as Modbus, LoRaWAN®, or MQTT to integrate non-BACnet devices into building automation systems.

MultiTech gateways are purpose-built for this role, serving as a secure edge integration point between wireless IoT sensors and BACnet-based BMS platforms.

By ingesting data from LoRaWAN® sensors and translating it into native BACnet objects delivered over BACnet/IP, MultiTech gateways allow IoT data to appear and behave like any other BACnet point within the system.

This approach simplifies integration, reduces custom engineering, and enables partners to deliver scalable, standards-based building automation solutions that extend beyond traditional wired networks.
