BACnet Properties

BACnet Properties are the standardized attributes associated with BACnet objects that describe their current state, behavior, and context within a building automation system.

Common properties include Present_Value, which reflects the current measurement or command state; Status_Flags, which indicate conditions such as fault or override; Units, which define how values are interpreted; Priority_Array, which manages command precedence; and Reliability, which communicates data quality. MultiTech enhances the use of BACnet properties by ensuring that data originating from wireless IoT sensors is accurately mapped, formatted, and maintained as it enters the BACnet environment.

MultiTech gateways translate LoRaWAN® sensor telemetry into well-defined BACnet objects and properties, preserving units, status, and reliability indicators so the data behaves like any native BACnet point. This enables building operators and integrators to trust, visualize, trend, and automate against IoT-sourced data using existing BMS tools and workflows—without custom logic or proprietary extensions.
